Vivian - in a few years, it is possible that you won't be able to comprehend this without historical context. But not probable.
July 1 is the 150th anniversary of Darwin getting up the courage to publicly present evolution to the world.
Switching gears. It isn't unusual to hear the US and the Middle East mentioned together. About saving the free and the brave from those religious fanatics. Improving their lot with democracy. Or, as a lesson how not to fuck up big time. So it is refreshing to see a story where we were on the same side.
Back to Darwin. This, from a Reuters new story from London today:
"His theories are still rejected by some,
notably creationists in the United States,
and are less than welcome in the Middle East."
Full disclosure - yes Vivian - being part Indian, you are ethnically related to the largest collection of superstitious people in the whole world.
