FT, my old friend from my college days in Pilani and Austin was in town earlier this week. The last time he was here Vivian was about 10 days old and here's a photo of him and Vivian who fell asleep as soon as he picked her up. FT's kids are 16 and 14 now and it's so obvious that he likes children and is good with them - neither of which I can claim.
This time he walked in through the front door and spent the next hour playing with Vivian and Evan as if the three were long-lost friends. He took a family photo - Vivian's head and hands and eyes are blurry but I've included it in here because family photos are a rarity.

B for Babies, C for Chickens
Jo has been talking about having the neighbors over for drinks for a while. Then Amy did it. This evening six families from our street with children between the ages of almost seven down to a few months old congregated to drink wine, eat dinner, and watch their children play. The thing the kids enjoyed the most was to pick up hens like small sacks of beans and then carry them to the top of the play scape and release them to "teach them to fly".
Jo sat with two lovely babies on her lap and seemed to like that tremendously but I was happy to note that she was not unhappy to hand them back to their mothers when it was time to leave.

Siblings
A couple of weeks ago Evan and Jo were gone to Arizona for a short trip. They were traveling with Aunt Francis and Carol to see Jo's namesake - her Aunt Jo. Here is a photo I downloaded from Jo's camera - three sisters together. Aunt Jo is in the middle. I've only met her once or twice but Jo and I have received lots of letters from her over the years. And she's read this blog from it's early days.
When I first saw this photo on facebook, after a while my mind wandered. Does my dad miss his siblings - he's the last of a big family. What will it be like when Alu and I are older? And Evan and Vivian?

More Scary Face Pictures
Back in April Vivian and Ava got scary face paintings. Today I downloaded some photos from my camera and found a couple more worth posting.
