Twenty seventeen blew in like a wrecking ball carrying a yellow-haired petulant man. The rest of the year was in fact an effort at getting back to some level of normality.
January - Jo went to DC and Vivian went to the State Capitol wearing their funny pussy hats.
February - Vivian threw herself a huge 80's birthday party at home with karaoke, intoxicated mothers, and roving gangs of kids.
March - we went to Santa Fe with friends and neighbors and had a fun wholesome time skiing at Sipapu.
April - the Rosedale Ride, Evan's birthday party and sleepover (are eight 1st graders less of a pain than 60 5th graders?), and beautiful weather for sailing, hiking, camping and visiting Grandma's.
May - lots of Vivian's volleyball and choir and Evan's cub scouts - our lives essentially consumed by our kids activities.
June - ah - a reprieve - two weeks in Italy, sailing and then with my lovely wife while Vivian graduated from a year of home schooling, and Evan from 1st grade.
July - family trip with Grandma to visit Aaron in Colorado, and then a romp through the national parks of Utah and Wyoming. Jo enjoys camping!
August - we continued the family vacation on the east coast, from Maryland to Maine - with a nice stop at Alu & Michelle's. And a quick trip to Nebraska at the heartland of the Great American Solar Eclipse. And Evan starting 2nd grade, And Vivian starting 5th at a new school.
September - recovering from August.
October - Archer's Challenge, back to volleyball and cub scouts, a quick weekend trip sans kids to Key West, and Halloween, of course.
November - camping - thrice, including for Thanksgiving.
December - holidays, hosting Christmas dinner, and the Hyderabadi invasion.
My New Year desire (less binding than a resolution) is to write more posts in 2018. The warmest wishes for a wonderful 2018 from the whole family. Love, hugs, and peace.
