For the last couple of years my morning routine twice a week and sometimes three times included the RedBlack gym. It wasn't a special place but it was mostly red and black on the outside. It never had a sign or an official name and soon it became RedBlack. I have added gallons of sweat to it's black rubber horse stall mats. And have tried to grind down the pavement in front with yokes and sledges and other devices of pre-industrial transportation.
Jo went there at least as frequently as I did. Gordon joined me about a year ago. Vivian and Evan were regulars too and once showed up dressed like Jen and Travis.
Sometime last week it was painted grey overnight and will now become CrossFit Central's midtown location. There's Jen leaning on the wall after my last workout at RedBlack.
And here is Travis County Strength taking shape. It's their new gym. Delivery trucks brought in new (yea!) black rubber horse stall mats and shinny new kettle bells and weights and boxes. And there's Travis along with everything you need to start any new business venture - white boards, cookies, and champagne. And Evan and Vivian in the audience. Good luck my friends.
