Funny Texts

It was just past 6AM. I was dreaming about how nice it is to sleep in. No kids, no wife. I'm skiing in Colorado. And that it's not a dream. Then my phone starts to go off. First call is from my dad's banker in India. We had worked out that 7:00 AM in Austin / 6:30 PM in India is a good for both of us. But today I ignore the call and burrow deeper into the pillows. Then a series of chirps indicating texts. Reluctantly I roll over and take a look.

Apparently Ava next door had been left home alone (with baby Z) and was worried. Karen was at the gym. So Ava, amazingly resourcefully, picked up Tim's phone and texted our neighbor group (Tim, Karen, Jo and me). Jo initially thought that Tim had lost his parents. So she went over next door to help find them. Luckily our kids overslept and didn't wake up and text Karen when they couldn't find their parents. All ended well. Jo found Timmy unexpectedly asleep in his bed.

After that it turns out that Vivian required an early morning trip to the dentist to have a wire in her braces adjusted. And then second breakfasts. So the kids rolled into school tardy as turds.

I'm going to see if Ava can teach my kids how to text when they need to. To use correct capitalization and say "Thank you". And to remain calm. Now to ski.
