Yesterday, after Vivian got back from school, she hopped up on the couch and reached for the magnetic alphabets on the steel board. It was only after I noticed that she was hunting around for the B and when she found it she placed it next to the A that I realized that she was attempting to sort the letters of the alphabet.
In the course of about 10 minutes and with the tiniest bit of help from me (she thought that the N was the Z rotated 90 degrees - which is technically right), she had them all arranged correctly. It was excruciating because she started from A and recited the ABCD song 26 times - but she did it. And it was just a few weeks ago that all she knew was V (for "Vivian" of course).
