They "The car seat isn't approved for use on board our airplane."
Jo "Here are the instructions that come with the car seat for how to use it on a airplane".
Me "It's been on all kinds of airplanes for the last 9 months."
They "Not on our airplane."
Me "Why don't you use Boeings or Airbuses instead of making your own airplanes."
Jo "Arun shut up."
Cross language/culture sarcasm is apparently a waste of breath.
Eventually they approved. At Narita they started down the same path again. I explained that we had just arrived at Narita from Hong Kong on an ANA flight. The gate crew actually took Evan's seat into the aircraft and tried it for themselves before they allowed us to take it on board.

All this gave Evan plenty of time to chat up some Japanese girls. He plied them with crayons till they were hooked. Then he ran around the airport with three Japanese girls chasing after him.
