Amherst

Next stop on the road trip was Amherst - to visit Holden and Soren and beautiful baby Willa and of course Cara and Eric. Evan and Soren played together. Vivian and Holden are old friends. We visited the Eric Carle Museum where the kids learned to draw Mo Willems' pigeons and had a time running outside under the apple trees.

Later we went to Atkins Farms next door for lunch. At one point there were five children arrayed around Cara and a nice old lady stopped by and congratulated her on her wonderful children and asked how she managed with so many of them. In the fourth photo if you look carefully you will find five shinny young faces and Cara. We laughed as she explained that they weren't all hers. A few minutes later as we were leaving Aktins, a man made the same mistake - except he thought all five were mine! I can only conclude that the residents of Amherst are fast and loose with parental assumptions....
