We celebrated on Saturday instead of waiting till Sunday. The Mothers were plied with mimosas till it was time for lunch. After that three Mothers got to cut their combined birthday cake (the "6" was the only candle in the house) and the fourth had her special Upper Crust strawberry rhubarb pie.
On Sunday morning we did the usual pilgrimage to Sweetie's Donuts and then went to the dam. The kids climbed a lovely old oak overlooking Canyon Lake while Jo took Carol's old knees for one last walk on the dam (it's not what you are thinking, she's just getting her old knees replaced).
