I took Vivian for her annual dentist appointment on Monday morning. She had a good time chatting with the x-ray tech and hygienist and dentist. No cavities. But she's got to stop sucking on her thumb.
They gave her a silver token that she could insert in her choice of vending machines and extract a little toy. She chose a bouncy ball. On the drive back home she asked if they also had candy machines that she could have selected a treat from. I said "No - it's a dentist's office. They don't want kids to get cavities."
"But isn't that what they do? Fix cavities?"
