As we drove past the beautiful barn between Padonia and Reserve on our way to Stanton Lake one morning I suggested to Jo that we buy an old farm house and barn and make a winery and a little restaurant. She snorted at the idea of being able to grow grapes in Nebraska. Later that evening Karen and Levi picked us up and drove to the Schillingbridge Winery and Microbrewery in Pawnee City.
The wine was good. Levi said the beer was very good. And the food was great. Our first culinary experience in the great state of Nebraska that didn't involve the words "Frosty" or "Queen" in the name and you couldn't eat a crunch cone.
