Dim Sum

Chinatown is upstairs from Musashino - our Japanese comfort food restaurant. They have a banner that you can see from Musashino that announces "Dim Sum Saturday and Sunday". Vivian asked about it months ago and we had explained what dim sum was. She wanted us to go there for dim sum the coming Saturday. That never happened and she continued to ask every time she was at Musashino. Earlier this week when we were there, Jo put it in my iPhone so we'd remember. And sure enough when Saturday rolled around we headed to Chinatown for dim sum.

We parked and got out of the car. Evan asked if we were going to Musashino. We said, no - remember it's dim sum at Chinatown. And he flatly refused. He likes familiarity in his choice of foods and restaurants. He put his head down on the stairs and started to proclaim loudly that he wanted to go to Musashino. We ignored him and walked up and into Chinatown. He joined us very unwillingly after some time. We got seated very quickly. I took this photo a few seconds after that. Vivian on the other hand was excited and eager and asked about the contents of the different steam baskets and plates and carts and had a great old time. Evan finally cheered up. But he still didn't eat anything.

If Evan didn't look so darn much like me or eat like Carol, I'd think he was switched at birth.
