A few years back when Sharath and Co were in Florida and we were at Praveen's home, Vivian coined the phrase "swimming cool". That's what she thought we were calling the swimming pool. On Sunday here is how I was gently reminded of that.
After the customary Sunday morning trip to Sweetie's Donuts in Sattler, the kids settled into the pool with Grandma. I needed to load up the water treatment system with about 160 pounds of salt and change a wheel on the riding lawn mower. Then Jo decided the pull out the carpet from the dining room floor. It took the two of us about an hour to do that. And it took me about 10 minutes longer to drag the old carpet out of the house and to cajole it into the trailer - 10 minutes of feeling like I was wrestling a wooly mammoth on a hot tin roof.
After which I was so ready for the pool. That's when my dad surprised me the heck out of me and said that he was ready too. He used to get in the pool in the old days. But he's expressed no interest during the last year.
In no time we had everyone in the pool.
A little bit later we got in the car to leave for Austin and Jo noticed that it was 106 (41 C for people from countries with modern systems of measurement). No wonder. The kids and my dad fell asleep soon after we got on the road. Nice and relaxed from the swimming cool.
