Horses

We decided to drive around the Hvalfjörður fjord (which is a like saying "chai tea") instead of taking the undersea tunnel on the ring road. We stopped to take some photos of the fjord named "Whale fjord" in Icelandic. It is still the site of whaling operations. Later we stopped at a gas station/restaurant next to the whaling pier where there was a looping video of whale hunting and a few giant whale bones on display.

We pulled up on a farm road and I got some photos of Jo and the kids with the fjord behind.

Then we saw horses. In Iceland horses are more common than cattle. Probably more common than the ubiquitous sheep. They saw us crossing the highway and they ran towards us. The fence was electrified so we and the animals kept our distance. But they were close enough to marvel at the beauty of the beasts.
