Iceland has huge open spaces and a big sky. And very few people. Once you are out in the country each home gets it's own sign on the highway. You think it's an exit to a town but it's just the road to someone's home.
One upside it that the kids run free. They can't get mixed up in a crowd and get lost among other humans. So we let them go. And they love it. Here's Vivian on top of a hill and Evan charging down a path.
Sometimes you see one or two homes and a church. I guess that makes it a hamlet or a village. Other times there's a church all by itself. We marveled and took a couple of photos of remote looking churches.
