My cousin arrived this morning. Dona carries a big responsibility - the first cousin from the Chatterjee fam that Vivian and Evan have encountered in Austin. Six of their first cousins live down the interstate. Three more in Florida. A couple more somewhere. And then there are the Burns cousins in Nebraska - by the truckloads. So Vivian and Evan probably think that cousins only come in one flavor - the Clark-Burns flavor. Till now.
Dona is charming the kids. She had Evan sitting on her lap and refusing to come to me. And Vivian magic-ing her into princesses and frogs and back to princesses. And my dad was almost chatty (by his standards). This evening however we leave the kids with a sitter (thanks, Ingrid for the last-minute rescue) so we can show Dona a bit of Austin-weird city life.
