Vivian put on her sparing gloves for her first class of tae kwon do and yelled and kicked and punched boards and then came back home and dressed up in her Cinderella outfit and danced around.
There's another interesting transition going on. While Vivian remains mostly self-centered and oblivious of other people's needs and feelings, lately there are some signs on a possible change. The other day I had spent a couple of hours on a dentist's chair and by the time I picked Vivian and returned home the lidocaine was wearing off. Vivian put me to rest on the couch with a cushion under my head and then she draped a comforter over me and got me a glass of water - all this without my asking. Then she made me a lovely paper butterfly adorned with the words "I love you Daddy". Awww. This weekend at Grandma's Vivian gave Carol and Jo and me massages with lotion - rubbing our feet and knees and elbows.
And then to make sure we don't get complacent she throws in a couple of good fits now and then.
My Beauty and my Beast all rolled into one.
