Alu and Michelle made their spring pilgrimage to Austin the week before our spring break. Two weeks of glorious Austin spring weather was interrupted by three days of continuous rain during their visit. So they spent that time buying the kids multiple gifts for their birthdays. Then on the last day it cleared up and we went to our friendly little winery in Hye, Texas and drank wine and ate pâté and pizza while the children ran amok in the grove of ancient live oaks and played with Suki, the owner's chocolate lab.
Two workers were pruning the vines in the vineyard and Vivian and Evan went off to chat with them. After a while I decided to walk over and say hello.
"Hello - how are you?"
"Good. Your grandchildren speak very good Spanish"
Grandpa must have liked the wine as Alu had to drive him back to Austin. As we had taken two cars, I understand Michelle did the same for grandma.
