Due to news about long lines at the TSA, Jo decided that at about 07:30 on Friday morning we should pack up and headed off to Bergstrom. Checking in took 30 seconds. Security took another 50. When I asked if I could send my foil covered breakfast tacos through the x-ray machine, the TSA agent deadpanned "depends on what's in them". And while we waited and waited and waited for our 10:30 flight, Vivian made alien antlers for Evan.
Our first flight was a short three and a half hour affair to Newark but the snacks and the ice crystals on the window portended where we were headed next. At about 17:30 we left Newark. The kids got engrossed in their movies and within an hour the scenery outside our window changed to one of a glorious perpetual sunset. We landed in Stockholm with about four hours of disturbed sleep on average.

Arlanda airport is small and cozy (six beautiful wooden immigration booths in our arrival hall). Evan read Harry Potter on a bench and Vivian danced with one of our wheeled suitcases while Jo and I sorted out our Swedish Kronas and figured out how to make our way into Stockholm. I like these sparsely populated northern European countries (at least in summer).
