Early morning on Thursday we woke up Grandma and the kids and headed for the airport (no passport hitches this time though Jo did have to take her passport because I lost her ID). Here is the now traditional photo of Evan in an airport in his pajamas dragging his carry-on. He walked into his aircraft and smartly told the flight attendant "Hello - I am going to someplace with snow."
Jo had found us our vacation rental - a nice faux adobe southwestern home at the foothills of the Sangre de Christo. This is the view from the living room. You can just see the snow covered Kachina Peak of Taos Ski Valley towards the left.
We were initially disappointed that it wasn't snowy at the vacation home (it was during our last trip to these mountains three years ago). But in the end it worked out great. It was nice to be able to send the kids outside to play in the lovely sunshine.
Aaron and Beth and their kids arrived soon afterwards. In four days this was the only time the cousins sat still enough to be photographed (mostly) together (missing Peyton). They had boatloads of fun. As you can tell, so did some of the grown-ups.
